Engine Maintenance

Last week I found out the hard way that my go-to mechanic retired and closed up his shop. I tried calling around different people I know for shop recommendations, but no one was answering the phone . I hopped on Yelp and Affordable Auto & Truck Repair this morning and stopped in shortly thereafter. Mike was super helpful and was able to text me the things I needed done to my car because I was in and out of meetings all day and didn't know when I would be able to be on the phone. Once we agreed on the work that I was going to get done, he promptly turned it around and I picked up my car before they closed up today. One point to know is that I already had a part purchased from the store so I definitely think that helped with timing. I had my power steering pump and serpentine belt on my 2006 Ford Focus replaced for $256. I'm definitely going to make this my new auto repair shop of record. Hopefully I don't need much more work done, but you never know what comes up!

My alternator had gone and needed replacing as I had a 3 and half hour's drive back to Palm Coast. My boyfriend had told me of this place. Rick had called up and they managed to get my car in that day, which was a God send. Can't thank Mike enough for a doing an amazing job on replacing my alternator that same day. The price was very reasonable, Mike was very professional and friendly and reassured us that the car would be ready in a few hours, to which it was. When we arrived back to collect the car, Mike had explained to us how bad the previous alternator was. Not only had the alternator been replaced with a new one, I was given a warranty incase something went wrong with it in the future. This shocked me as I had never heard of getting a warranty for replacement of a faulty part. Needless to say I was blown away by this. Both Rick and I thanked Mike again for fitting us in and doing an amazing job. It's hard to come across good honest people who won't rip you off. I would highly recommend this auto shop to anyone who is needing any kind of work done. They are very professional and caring. Hard to come by in this day and age. Big thank you!

Bob Ortiz and his staff have worked on 4 cars for my family. Each and every time, Affordable Auto and Truck Repair provided quality service at a reasonable price. My first experience was when my son called AAA due to a late night problem. Affordable Auto and Truck Repair arrived quickly, towed his car to their facility and secured it and repaired and returned it to him the next day. I have since taken my car for regular maintenance and new tires; my wife's car due to an electrical issue; and my daughter's car for a sensor issue. For my daughter's car, Bob recommended that we also replace her tires. He gave me a quote on a new set of tires but also informed me that for the type of tire my daughter needs, he wouldn't be able to compete with the national tire companies and suggested I shop around. At every juncture, Bob has dealt with me honestly and fairly, always kept me updated on cost and time to completion of the job, and provided quality service. Was vacationing at the Tradewinds, was at a souvenir shop when electric system on car died. Had car towed here on AAA recommendation. Had to call them next morning, Bobby was very polite, told me they had my car would check it out and get back to me. He called me , explained my alternator was bad and had ruined a cell in my battery, gave me quote on repair. Later he called to advise serpentine belt was dried out, needed replacement. Said there would be no labor charge on it. Car was ready around 4, picked it up, price as stated. He went over the warranty with me making sure I understood it and that it was good nationwide. Later received an email asking if everything was ok, and told I had a free oil change whenever I was in the area. If you live here, definitely use their service. Dependable Honest.

My Volvo was making a rattling sound that I needed looked at. I hadn't gone to a mechanic in years and knew I didn't want to pay dealership prices. I figured I would try this shop I pass daily and near my home. Small little garage. I loved that I was dealing with one mechanic and the manager and not some chain. The mechanic had experience and clearly knew what he was doing. He quickly diagnosed the problem and showed me the wear and tear on the motor mount that needed replacing. Quick service. Price wise, I think it was in the appropriate price range and I loved the follow up to make sure we were happy. Will definitely be taking our cars back.

I hate auto repair places...that is until I brought my car into Mike. I just brought it in for an oil change. Just happened to mention to Mike that the AC has not worked for years. Several other garages had looked at it and not been able to repair, so when he said he would just take a look at it I just said sure go ahead. Mike identified the issue and quoted me a very reasonable price (other quotes I received were always higher and they were never sure that what they proposed would resolve the issue). And to top it all off he re installed my glove compartment which had previously been taken apart and never put back together...at no charge. Thanks Mike and team

Car troubles are never fun, especially when your car has issues during a vacation out of state. After driving to St. Pete with a slow leak in my radiator, I needed to get the repair done before driving back to North Carolina. I've had issues with car service recently, so I'm very cautious when it comes to finding places to trust my car with. I'm glad I trusted all of the positive reviews on Google. Mike was great and had a new radiator installed in my car the same day. Unlike some other reviewers, I found the cost to be in line with other local shops and much less than you would spend at a dealer. I would definitely recommend this shop.

These guys were awesome! They fixed my starter same day, for a fair price, and when my friend dropped me back off to pick up my car, they even helped tighten the battery terminals on his car for free! The manager Mike is a super personable and knowledgeable guy. I recently moved to the area for law school and had no clue where to take my car when it started giving me trouble. I saw this place had good google reviews so I gambled on it and it really paid off. I highly recommend these guys!
